Red Team– our entry level group with swimmers usually graduating in from Stroke School. Each young swimmer need to be able to swim 25 yards freestyle with side breathing, swim backstroke, as well as swim in water over their heads. Doggy paddle is not a swim stroke (please refer to our Stroke School page). This group practices twice each week for one hour. Competition is required.
Ages 5 – 8 years old
Blue Team is for swimmers 8 yrs. & younger who show they have advanced beyond Red Team. They will focus on learning all four strokes, turns, starts and how to read a pace clock and to do small swim and kick sets. This group practices four times each week for one hour.Competition is required.
Silver Team is for swimmers 9 yrs. & younger who are ready to focus on being strong competitive swimmers. They will continue working on all the parts of Blue Team and include practicing swim and kick in all four strokes. Their swim sets will begin to be longer in duration but will not yet be in what most would consider 'hard core' training. This is a stepping stone to the Junior Teams. This group practices four times each week for 75 minutes. Competition is required.
(NOT OFFERED THIS SUMMER) Varsity/Summer Rec Team is for swimmers 9 yrs. & older generally beginning swimming for the first time. It is offered in during the summer. Focus will be on teaching all four strokes and kicks, turns and starts. Modest training to prepare to move into either Silver or Junior Teams. This group practices twice each week for one hour. Competition is optional.
Junior 1 Team is for 9 - 12 yr. olds, swimmers in this group are competitive, practice training all four strokes in both swimming and kicking. This group works on specific elements to becoming quality swimming athletes. This group practices four times each week for 1 1/2 hrs. Competition is required.
Junior 2 is for 10 - 13 yr. olds, swimmers in this group are very competitive, have a goal of qualifying for FLAGS and beyond and are committed to practicing 5 times each week and must include Saturday practices. Competition is required.
Junior 3 is for 11 - 13 yr. olds, swimmers in this group are highly competitive, have a goal of successfully competing at FLAGS and beyond and are committed to practicing atleast 6 times each week, which must include Saturday practices. Competition is required.
Senior Team is for swimmers 12 yrs. and older. This group is expected to attend six to nine practices each week, which must include Saturday practice.
National Team is for swimmers 12 yrs. and older, who are committed to attend all practices and competitions. These swimmers are focused on competing at the Regional, Junior & Senior National levels as well as HS State competition.
