Area 3/5 Championships March 2013

Below is a recap of our entire meet, not an easy feat given not just the number of swimmers but more so the number of great swims we had from start to finish. This was undoubtedly our best team meet yet and to say we made our presence known would be an understatement. Our team cheers and our gloriously loud parent cheering section could have been enough, but it was more how loud we swam, coming from behind time and again to win heats and events. Seeing often not just one or two but at times three and four Tsunami swimmers in the final heats at night. Watching swimmers at the far end of the pool waving team pom – poms and cheering on their teammates. Seeing the smiles earned not from a great swim but from the hard work it takes to earn that right to smile after a race. From all of our newest swimmers to our most veteran, this was a meet to remember. Speaking not just for myself but for all of the coaches, to our swimmers and parents – thank you. It is an honor to stand on a deck, wearing our blue, red & white and being a coach for such a great group of athletes.
